With the aim of increasing efficiency of the breeding process to create high-yielding competitive varieties of soybeans were tested for use in breeding nurseries covering of mulch materials and polymeric absorbents of soil moisture. A polymeric absorbent (hydrogel) was introduced into the soil to a depth of 9-10 cm before soybean seeding at a dose of 400 kg/ha. After the shoots were obtained., mulch materials were placed in the row-spacings: a black polyethylene film and a nonwoven material. According to the results of the field experiments., it was found that the multiplication factor in the variants covered with polyethylene film was increased by 1.22 times in comparison with the control. Maximum this indicator was increased in the version with the complex use of mulching materials and polymeric absorbent moisture - 1.32 times. Thus, due to the preservation of additional soil moisture in the root layer, it was possible to reduce the stress on plants caused by unfavorable weather conditions, to increase the coefficient of reproduction of soybean seeds, and to improve the efficiency of the selection process.
