The natural environment forms the basis of the production process at any historical stage in the development of society. In material form, it is a combination of natural resources and natural conditions. Natural resources are understood as a set of matter and forces of nature, which, at a given level of their study and development of productive forces, can be used to meet the needs of human society in the form of direct participation in material activities. This article analyzes modern ways of developing natural resources.
