Methods for fire-making in the Aleutian islands in the second half of XIX century

In article ways of fire-making by Aleuts with the help of various adaptations are considered. Feature of Aleutian devices was use of sulfur and charcoal, properties of tinder. Their application became result of adaptation to complex climatic conditions and first of all to a high level of humidity. Similar ways of fire-making existed at the population of Chukotka and Alaska.
