The article provides an analysis of the category «balance of private and social interests» in relation to copyright. Also the article deals with the social and axiological significance of fair balance of private and public interests in copyright law to reflect modern realities, which is due to the specificity of the results of creative activities as objects of protection. The article shows that the achievement of an equitable balance of private and social interests in copyright law reflects the effectiveness of the legal regulation of relations. The author offers a degree of security of the legal means to balance the relevant interests, seen as one of the criteria for the effectiveness of legal regulation in various matters.
