There are compared two methods for finding new magnetic flux (NMF) emerging in active regions before powerful flares accompanied by halo-type coronal mass ejections at more than 1500 km/s velocity. The first method is based on the analysis of fractal properties of distribution of the photospheric magnetic field under measurement, the second one presents the visual analysis of an active region solar spot dynamics and measured magnetic field distribution in this active region. As shown, for 60.5 % of NMF emergence sites found using fractal analysis methods, NMF appearances were registered visually in the same sites. While, it was found that for some sites NMF appearances detected visually were not confirmed by the fractal method.
