This article is devoted to the study of comparative characteristics of the most common competitive ways of identifying a contractor. Through the procurement of goods, works and services for state and municipal needs, the state participates in the economy. The most common methods of conducting state and municipal procurement are open tender and electronic auction. Both methods of determining the winner of the purchase have both positive and negative features, and also have similarities and differences.
