Growth and development parameters comparison of different breeds calves

The purpose of the conducted research is to analyze the methods, regimen and diet of feeding calves of three breeds. The main factor of growth and development is the mode of feeding. Feeding calves for three months requires 180-200 kg of fodder, 200-250 kg of dry grass and 600 kg of silage or other loose feed. The work was carried out over 18 months. Studied: Caucasian brown breed of cows, Simmental breed and their hybrid. It was found that regardless of the same level of feeding, all breeds differed from each other in terms of live weight gain per 1 kg. The Caucasian brown spent 9.4 feed units per 1 kg of weight gain for 18 months, the Simmental breed spent 8.58 feed units, and the hybrid Cuban zebu x Simmental - 7.4 feed units. Thus, the Cuban zebu is the most promising.
