The functional condition of the upper limb was studied in 132 patients with humeral shaft fractures and deformities at different variants of external fixation. It was demonstrated that the half-pin scheme of external fixation created the most preferable conditions for the function of damaged upper limb. It was revealed that the elasticity of shoulder soft tissues was the most dynamic index.
