The first group of regions is characterized by the highest rates of migration population growth. The second group of regions includes the territories with the greatest migration population decline. 9 subjects of the Russian Federation belonging to the first group of regions and 10 subjects of the country constituting the second group of regions were selected. 108 indicators for each of the selected regions were compared with the corresponding indicators for the country. Indicators include: sectoral structure of employment; the share of economic sectors in the gross regional product; average per capita indicators of individual economic sectors in the gross regional product; average per capita volumes of shipped products by economic sectors; indicators of the transport system; investment structure. The analysis showed that the migration processes in the selected regions are significantly influenced by the sectoral structure of their economy. The most attractive industries and activities for migrants have been identified. At the same time, the sectoral specificity of regions with maximum indicators of migration population decline is characterized.
