Progress in surgery of the gastrointestinal tract, associated with the use of new powerful antibacterial drugs, new suture materials, hardware formation of intestinal anastomoses, unfortunately, has not solved the problem of suture failure. Many authors emphasize that the most pronounced reaction of both rejection and ligature organization occurs on non-absorbable suture material. All this justifies the desire of surgeons to use biodegradable filaments with obvious advantages. For absorbable filaments, the characteristics of paramount importance are the preservation of strength until a reliable and hermetic scar is formed, and then the rapid removal of the polymer and its biodegradation products from the body. Despite the significant advances made in biotechnology, it has not yet been possible to create materials that are fully compatible with a living organism. The main factor constraining the widespread use of highly demanded biodegradable polymers is the poor assortment of the latter, as well as the issues of regulating the processes of their functioning and destruction in tissues.
