The methodology of creation the rating of the best universities in the world from Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) is analysed. The Russian rating of higher education institutions from “Expert RA”, which reflects the integrated estimation of quality of domestic higher education institutions is considered. The comparative analysis of russian and foreign ratings is carried out.
