The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of armed forces, military-political associations and the defense industry in general branding in the different countries. In the conditions of growth of threats of global and national safety armed forces branding becomes an inevitably necessary political technology for the leading world powers. An inclusion of symbolical values of safety in the national image defines a position and competitiveness of the state on the international scene. For Russia, the systematic and consistent implementation of the national branding strategy based on the competencies of the defense industry as one of the main strategic industries in Russian industry is the number one political objective in order to increase the geopolitical influence and patriotism of the population for the consolidation of the nation in the face of global challenges.
