Comparative analysis of multipass time-of-flight mass analyzers based on mirrors and sector fields

In the present paper, a comparative analysis is undertaken of multiturn time-of-flight mass analyzers based on two types of ion-optical elements: electrostatic mirrors and sector fields. It is concluded that the analyzers based on gridless mirrors generally have advantages in possibility to achieve high resolving power and sensitivity.
