The comparative analysis of results of deterministic calculations of radionuclide migration after spent nuclear fuel burial in the crystalline rock

Бесплатный доступ

The paper presents the results of deterministic calculations of the radionuclide migration in the deep geological environment. The concept assumes a single canister with spent nuclear fuel situated in bentonite (near-field) and surrounded by crystalline host rock (far-field). The results have been presented in the form of release rates from the near-field and far-field. Additionally, the risk has been evaluated in the form of dose rate for the water drinking scenario for the exposed group of population. The authors have used the different methodologies and computer codes used in the research of the Institute for Energy EC-JRC and the Mining Institute KSC RAS.
