Comparative analysis of the results of sociological research in 2019-2020. On the attitude of the population of the Murmansk region to the increase in the retirement age

Based on the results of the analysis of sociological information based on the materials of surveys of residents of the Murmansk Oblast in 2019 and 2020, the opinions and assessments of the region’s population towards raising the retirement age are investigated. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that it examines the results of two years of the implementation of the pension reform in the Murmansk Oblast, based on the analysis of an extensive base of sociological information. Based on the discomfort of living conditions, the northern benefit of earlier (by 5 years), compared with all-Russian parameters of the terms of retirement was preserved, but the retirement age itself increased by the same 5 years: for women - 55 years, for men - 60 years. The study examined the fears of the population of the Murmansk Oblast related to the growing level of discrimination against people of pre-retirement and retirement age in the labor market, as well as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the implementation of the pension reform.
