The article focuses on a comparative analysis per sectoral structure of employment. A stable grouping of the countries of the world community on the sectoral structure of employment is developed using the methods of cluster and discriminant analysis. The economic interpretation of centroids of clusters is presented. A comparative analysis of the employment structure of Russia and its cluster is carried out and includes detailed deviations by types of economic activity. The relationship between gross national income and the size of the employed population in homogeneous groups of countries is presented.
