External secretory pancreatic insufficiency in pathology of the digestive organs

The paper presents an analysis of the examination of 98 patients to identify primary and secondary EPI. Using the PEIQ questionnaire and well-known diagnostic methods, primary EPI in the structure of the total EPI was detected in 67.2% of patients, secondary EPI in 32.8% of individuals. Primary EPI was more often diagnosed in men, had a longer history of the disease, compared to the secondary. Clinical markers for both primary and secondary EPI were low body weight and diarrhea. The effectiveness of treatment with Creon was higher with primary EPI.
