The mid-prosperous society in PRC: main stages of its construction

The article gives a socio-philosophical analysis of the process of "xiaokang" society development, initiated by Deng Xiaoping, a mastermind of Chinese reforms. We study the trend of constructing a moderately prosperous society in the modern period to reach the level of xiaokang and move on to the next stage for exceeding xiaokang in the coming years. The interrelation between the concept of "all-round construction of a moderately prosperous society" (xiaokang society) and the theory of building Chinese socialism with the concept of "balanced construction of a harmonious society", the idea of a "people-foundation" is emphasized.
