Mass media and terrorism

Emergence of a phenomenon of «mass culture» led to mass media function change. Function entertaining became more important, than informing function. Mass media form public opinion, manipulating the news facts. The terrorism conforms to requirements imposed to modern news. The close interrelation between mass media and terrorism is observed. The role of the state in formation of the agenda became more essential after events on September 11, 2001. Today it is possible to speak about emergence of a phenomenon of «cultural hegemony».
