Currently, considering the level of technological development, it is impossible to imagine people’s communication without cell phones. Unfortunately, they are actively used to communicate between accomplices in the crimes commission, as well as being a crime instrument and a crime subject. Cellular communication means: telephones and smartphones are a source of forensically significant information, both from the point of view of technical device that has a memory, and from the point of view of trace evidence analysis as a trace-receiving object. Of course, these phenomena are of great importance in the crime detection, crime investigation and crime prevention. The article is aimed at ensuring that cellular communication facilities are studied and examined in a complex, and first of all as a carrier of forensic information
