There were compared the features of the application and the treatment efficiency of donor red blood cells with a shelf life of 14 days and not less than 14 days. There was no effect of storage time of red blood cells on mortality, length of stay in the ICU and duration of postoperative treatment in a hospital for the 303 cardiac surgery patients.
