Formation of the eurysemous verbs in old high German and old English

In the course of its development the English language structure has undergone a radical typological change. Both English and German have been realizing the common Germanic diachronic constant in the course of their historical development, but the intensity of its realization differs in the two languages. This article studies verbal analytical constructions, whose verbal elements are expressed by eurysemous verbs such as habēn, geban and nēman in Old High German in comparison with habban, gifan and tacan in Old English.
