Formation and development of state-church relations in the Kurgan region in 1991-2015

The topic of the publication is devoted to the aspects of the formation and development of state-church relations in the Kurgan region in 1991-2015. The study of the newest period of the Russian Orthodox Church is conditioned by the need to analyze the available mechanisms and to forecast the most optimal ways of development. The aim of the work is to consider the regional system of interaction between secular and church structures, the main directions in the field of cooperation. During the period under review, the regional administrative apparatus was folded, in which there was a post of consultant for relations with religious, charitable organizations, informal associations and on national issues of the regional administration. Over the years, a trend has been observed in the region to pursue a secular policy for the unification of religious associations of different faiths and denominations in the matter of social service. In 1998-2015 in the Kurgan region, a stable system of interaction between regional departments and the Russian Orthodox Church in the implementation of social service was formalized by legal acts. Agreements on cooperation with all leading departments and departments of the region were concluded. Arrangements have been made to allocate regional funds for the restoration of church monuments of federal significance.
