The formation of militia in primorye, 1917-1922

The article examines the specifics of the formation and development of militia in Primorye during the years of Revolution and Civil War (1917-1922), when the region was in fact cut off from the main part of the country and the local authorities were forced to independently determine the most acceptable forms of militia's organizational structure, legal framework and operational methods. The author notes that the extremely difficult economic situation of the region, caused by the Civil War, seriously affected the financial situation of militia officers and the effectiveness of their activities.
