Formation of soil researches in the Komi territory

With a view of preservation in the academic science of continuity of generations and underlying traditions the stages of studying soils of the Republic of Komi are described in historical aspect. Special attention is given to soil-geobotanical researches during the war period which basic conclusions next decades have got special importance (compiling and publication of the state soil map on all the territory of the European Northeast). Formation of personnel structure of soil scientists and postgraduate study in the academic institution in connection with studying in the 1940-s of productive forces of the Komi territory is shown. Sources and results of new directions of the soil researches connected with profound studying of genetic peculiarities of zonal soils of the European North are given.
