Studying a large amount of factual material, the author considers the evolution of the Simeiz resort. The specific feature of the resort was the nationalization of the dachas, which were famous in pre-revolutionary times, and their transformation into a sanatorium for the working people of the Soviet Union. Analyzed is the restoration and development of the sanatorium complex in Simeiz after the Great Patriotic War (World War II). This territory on the Southern coast of the Crimea had a special status in the resort system of the All-Union Crimean health resort. Special climatic conditions led to the development of a network of sanatoriums here specializing in treating patients for various forms of tuberculosis and achieving high results in combating the dangerous disease. The author emphasizes the fact that the evolution of the tuberculosis resort in the Soviet period was all-embracing, resulting not only in the increased number of beds, but also a high level of therapeutic and diagnostic work and the use of new climatotherapeutic methods. The relevance of the study is explained by the tasks of reviving the present-day potential of the natural climatic resort in the Crimea in the status of an All-Russian health resort, which became possible after the reunification of the peninsula and the Russian Federation.
