In the article we look at the transformation of a little man's image in the modern novels on the examples of the works «Voices» and «Underground, or the hero of the present time» by V. S. Makanin, and the work «Nutochkin's House» by E. Chizhova. During the analysis we revealed the main motive of the transformation that is the creation of a mock double of a «little man» as a result of historical decoding of humanistic values.
