The article highlights the Old Believers’ status in the Vologda Province in the 19th and early 20th centuries (on the basis of the annual reports from the diocesan bishops to the Holy Synod). A brief statistical overview of the number and distribution of Old Believers in the districts of the Vologda province is presented. The main views, concordances and percentage ratio of Old Believers are indicated in the article. At the same time, the change in the Old Believers’ quality of life and their activity in the Vologda Province after the signing of the Imperial Decree “On Strengthening the Principles of Religious Tolerance”, and Old Believers’ relations with the authorities and the clergy of the Orthodox Church are studied.
