The article considers approaches to the statistical assessment of the sustainable development of hotel business enterprises. It is established that the accelerated development of the service sector, the desire of subjects to obtain the highest profit and the growing solvency of consumers of services contribute to the expansion and diversity of activities of hotel enterprises, since the hotel business is an important component of the service sector. The theoretical, methodological and organizational foundations of the analysis of the sustainable development of the hotel business in the context of economic transformation are substantiated. It is noted that the statistics of the hotel business should be considered, on the one hand, as a direction of economic statistics, since it studies the branches of the economy as a whole as an integral system, and on the other, as industry statistics, since it comprehensively and deeply examines the state, patterns and trends in the development of a separate industry - the hotel business, as well as the impact on this development of various social and economic phenomena. It is proposed to use a system of interrelated indicators to assess the sustainable development of hospitality enterprises. The principles of a systematic approach were used as the basis for building the indicator system, which allows them to be structured according to the appropriate blocks and, taking into account the possibilities of official statistical reporting, determine the composition of indicators for each block.
