Statistical sources and methods in the studies of the Buryat migration in the 1960-1980's

Various sources on migrations of the Buryatian population are considered in the paper. Firstly, in the studies of the national aspect of migrations, scholars are faced with the problem of definition of statistical indexes of migration balance. To count it one needs various statistical materials. Firstly, it is the Population Census providing the data on the dynamics of sizes of ethnical groups in different regions as well as the current statistical data on birthrates, mortality and national composition of migrants. The authors provide examples of migratory balance determination and discuss advantages and disadvantages of each method.
