Statistical analysis of the infrastructural potential of tourism in the regions of Russia

The article proposes methodological approaches to the study of the peculiarities and differences in the tourist infrastructure of the regions of Russia. An attempt is being made to build aggregated indices that characterize the infrastructural potential of tourism in the regions. To do this, using statistical procedures of factor analysis, integral indices characterizing the infrastructural potential of tourism in the regions are constructed from a certain set of variables. The leading and lagging regions have been identified. Statistical relationships between indicators of tourist infrastructure and socio-economic characteristics of regions are investigated. The analysis of the structure of relationships is performed and groups of informative indicators are determined by constructing equations of multiple linear regression. A graph of the linear structure of indicators of the potential of the tourist infrastructure and socio-economic characteristics is constructed. The identified relationships can be used to build regression models and conditional forecasting of the levels of development of tourist infrastructure.
