Аbstract. In this article, using the method of factor analysis, the statistical interdependence between the indicators of gross harvest of agricultural crops and their yield in the conditions of the Republic of Kazakhstan is studied. By identifying the presence or absence of identity in the nature of the general variances of gross harvest and yield indicators, it is possible to verify the fulfillment or non-fulfillment of the obvious statement "more crops are grown, more crops are harvested and vice versa". Based on the identity of the total variances of gross harvest and grain yield (they are significantly influenced by the same factor), it can be concluded that almost always the entire grown volume of grain crops was harvested. It was found that long-term fluctuations in the values of gross harvest and yield of cotton, tobacco and sugar beet were formed under the influence of various factors. This is a confirmation of the fact that for these crops, the variability of annual gross yields and their yields do not correspond to each other. That is, the statement "more crops are grown, more crops are harvested and vice versa" is unfair to these crops.
