Afghanistan is a consumer country that meets most of its domestic needs through imports from other countries. Afghanistan's trade balance shows that imports tended to increase from 2002 to 2020, and in 2013 the difference between imports and exports increased sharply. This study examined Afghanistan's trade statistics, customs assistance, financial support package and other incentives provided by the Afghan Government to domestic investors. This study shows that the Government's plans to establish a positive trade balance have not been successful. Trade deficit continues to provide a significant challenge to economic growth in Afghanistan.
