Statistical study of gender characteristics of unemployment in the Russian Federation

The relevance of the research topic is related to the fact that unemployment is one of the most acute problems of our time, which is almost impossible to eradicate. Unemployment affects various groups of the population: from young to older people. It is also important that no one is immune from losing their job: this can affect people with low and high earnings. People with different work experience face unemployment: both University graduates who have received a certain profession, but who do not yet have experience, and specialists who have worked for many years. In the Russian Federation, this situation is complicated by the fact that there is gender inequality in the labor market. The main source of income for men and women is wages. Therefore, unequal pay for the same work is gender discrimination. Gender discrimination in the labor market can lead to worse working conditions for women. This, in turn, can lead to a decrease in labor productivity, which will cause economic losses in the country.
