Sayan fortress wall

Sayansky ostrog - the first Russian fortress in Siberia, is fully excavated. The result is a large amount of archaeological materials to reveal his plan, including the construction of the walls. Found that the wooden walls were mostly in the form of «zaplot» and only partially as «taras». The characteristics of their features is given. The analysis of excavation materials substantially supplemented and clarified details of written sources of the Sayan fortress. They can also be used for reconstruction of the planning and development, establishing specific use of wooden walls of various kinds in other Russian fortresses of the XVIII century.
