Stepan Shevyryov on the “Russian outlook”

Tis article is devoted to the philosophical opinions of the well-known 19th century Russian thinker and scientist Stepan Shevyryov (1806-1864). By providing a sketch of the life and works of the philosopher, the author reveals the main sources of inspiration for his works and considers his contributions to the key periodicals of the 1820's-40's, especially to the journal Moskvityanin. Te author pays special atention to his views 300 Христианское чтение № 6, 2016 of Russia and Russian national character and gives an overview of the Shevyryov's principal works on this subject
