Degree of reduction of the subordinate clause in a Korean complex clause

Бесплатный доступ

In the paper, morphosyntactic types of complex sentences in Korean are considered, in particular, sentential complement sentences, including clauses that correspond to European infinitive clauses, as well as modal / analytic constructions. Different types of embedded clauses, or predications, are compared based on formal tests to determine the degree of dependence of the embedded clause and the matrix clause. That is, the embedded clause and its predicate can undergo reduction to some extent, or certain morphosyntactic features can be required to coincide in the main and embedded clauses.
