One hundred years of democratization of Russian engineering education: origins and results

The article briefly considers four stages of national engineering education: tsarist (before 1917); Bolshevik (1917 – approximately the 1940s); postwar Soviet (approximately the 1950s – 1991); modern (since 1991). The motive forces of limitation evolution for getting engineering education as well as some of its results have been presented.
