High level of innovative development is a key factor of the economic growth of countries and their positioning in the world markets of high-tech goods and services. The article presents an overview of the dynamics of the BRICS countries positions in the rating «Global innovation index» and the share in the world export of information and communication technologies, highlights the strengths and weaknesses of countries in the development of modern technologies.
