Strategies of medical care consumption in the Russian society: sociological concept and methods of positivisation

The article deals with the specific features of medical care consumption phenomenon in the sociological thought. The author focuses on theoretical and methodological backgrounds of sociological understanding of medical consumption strategies and defines the measures of their positivisation in the context of transformation of the healthcare institution in Russia today. Special attention is given to the analysis of behavioral and structural dimensions of medical care accessibility. It’s argued that the strengthening of state control is a necessary step in the sphere of healthcare, but motivation to modernization of the medical support system in the budget “socialistic” model is extremely weak.
