Strategies of regional design

In the article strategies of regional design are treated in the framework of the problems of ecology of culture. Ecocultural potential of regional design is revealed in the shape of orientation for ethno-cultural identity and convergence with arts and crafts. It is proved that one of the forms of this process is application of «the symbolised capital» of regional ethno-cultural traditions, symbols of Mordovian ornament which accumulates valuables' orientations of traditional ethnic culture and translates them into the practice of regional design.
