National security strategy of the Russian Federation 2021: new insights for current challenges

Introduction: in the scientific review, the author considers the idea and terminology of new National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation. Materials and Methods: National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation approved by the Order 02/07/2021 No 400 by the President of Russia provided the methodological basis for this study. When working on the article, the author used general research methods: modelling, abstraction, description as well as comparative law. Results: two sections of the Strategy ("General" and "Russia in the Modern World") only were the subject to the critical review. Discussion and Conclusions: basing on the discussion modifications in the foreign policy of Russia and the national security policy the author proposed possible adjustments to doctrinal acts. The author concludes that National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation dated 02/07/2021 requires further improvement and refinement of certain of its provisions.
