Construction of artificial ice islands for drilling

Construction technologies developed during the 1970s and 1980s, because greater efficiency and reduced construction time were required to meet operational constraints. The use of submerged ice structures has largely been replaced by spraying techniques for cases where large volumes of ice are required, such as offshore exploration platforms. This article will focus on the use of ice spraying technology for building grounded islands, although in certain conditions other methods are preferable. The article is devoted to the use of ice spraying technology for the construction of artificial ice islands.
