Wenlock stromatolitic buildups from the Chernov ridge: main morphotypes, microstructure
Бесплатный доступ
The article presents the first results of a study of Lower Silurian stromatolitic structures from Chernov Ridge. Strata of the Voivyvskiy Horizon (Wenlock), composed of alternating thin-bedded and platy limestones with mud-cracks and marl, were studied. Limestones, separating stromatolitic layers, yield fragments of small ostracods, pelecypods and are bioturbated. Strata underlying and overlying the studied interval contain remains of brachiopods which date the studied interval as Wenlock.
