The structure and functions of the legal system

The topical objective of the legal doctrine in the Russian Federation at the current stage of its development is the reference to the fundamental issues of functioning and development of the legal system. The legal system plays a significant role in developing the rule-of-law state. In scientific community, there is no unified approach in regard to the category of «legal system» as well as the structure of the legal system. The system-structural method of knowledge should be used together with considering the functions of the legal system. The functions of the legal system cover the main directions of the system impact on the external social environment. The main functions of the legal system are integrative, regulatory and protective ones. The achievements can be used in references in conducting further analysis of the structure and functions of the legal system.
