Thermomechanical treatment of light aluminium alloys containing lithium increases their strength. The greatest effect is observed if deformation is performed at optimal aging temperatures. Plasticity characteristics are decreased. Hot deformation in TMT regime improves both fatigue resistance and toughness of the alloys suppressing intercrystalline embrittlement.
