Structural and dramatic features of the cycle “Forest scenes” by R. Schumann

R. Schumann's piano cycle “Forest Scenes” is a rather complex compositional phenomenon: unlike “Children's Scenes,” there is not a single song form here; moreover, there are no objective reasons to consider the Liedform invariant to be the only important constructive basis for the plays. This specificity can be explained by the saturation of the processes of thematic development, dictated by emotional-figurative events.
