Resume: The spleen develops at 2 months of embryogenesis. First, it acts as a universal organ of hematopoiesis, after birth - only lymphocytopoiesis. Performs protective (barrier), immunobiological functions, produces poets (thrombocytopoietins and erythropoietins), participates in the destruction of erythrocytes. The spleen is a non-vital organ. Outside, it is covered with a peritoneum (visceral leaf), under it is a connective tissue capsule (there are smooth myocytes, with the contraction of which pain occurs in the left hypochondrium; with a sharp filling of the spleen, it ruptures). It regenerates well, provided that all the constituent parts are preserved.
