Structural variation of phraseological units of military origin

The article deals with the problem of determining the boundaries of variation in phraseology in general and in relation to phraseological units of terminological origin, in particular. The author carries out a comparative analysis of the views of leading phraseologists on the essence of variation. The study of the features of structural and semantic changes in phraseological units of military origin showed that variation for them is a particular structural property, and the stability of phraseological units’ components remains the determining quality.
