Students and social adaptation: the results of sociological research

The article deals with the results of the sociological research of students’ social adaptation in the context of its forms. The research has identified the level of adaptation, the adaptation period, and the difficulties the students face in the process of adaptation. The authors carry out the factor analysis and the typology of respondents (diligent students, pragmatic students and passive students). It is concluded that it’s necessary to consider the social adaptation as a general university issue, which can help to manage at once the two processes: reducing the period of adaptation and improving the quality of education. Also, identification of the aforesaid types of students promotes the dedicated practical work on making the adaptation more rapid.
